Music & Concert Venues in Houston
Sarofim Hall
Hobby Center, 800 Bagby St, Houston, TX 77002
Sarofim Hall is part of the Hobby Center For The Performing Arts complex.
Part of Houston's Hobby Center, Sarofim Hall's most impressive feature is its celestial domed ceiling, which replicates the Texas night sky through the use of thousands of fibre optic lights. Under this starry canopy, the venue hosts numerous Broadway shows every year, as well as productions from its resident company, the aptly named Theatre Under the Stars.
Brown Theater
Wortham Center, 500 Texas Ave, Houston, TX 77002
Brown Theater is part of the Wortham Center complex.
Brown Theater opened in 1987 as part of the larger Wortham Theater Center and quickly became one of the key homes of Houston Grand Opera and other major performing arts companies. It sits in the heart of downtown Houston’s Theatre District and brings large-scale productions to a purpose-built space designed specifically for opera, ballet, and touring Broadway shows. The theatre seats around 2,400 people and uses a traditional horseshoe-style auditorium to keep audiences close to the stage while still delivering the scale needed for grand productions. Over the years, it has hosted everything from classic operas and contemporary works to high-profile touring musicals, establishing itself as one of the city’s most important cultural venues and a central pillar of Houston’s performing arts scene.
