TUTS get the joint jumpin' with this Tony winning musical
Theatre Under The Stars returns to the Hobby Center this fall with a sizzling new production of this Tony-winning musical based on the music and legacy of early 20th century icon Fats Waller. Conceived by Richard Maltby Jr. and Murray Horowitz and directed by Monique Midgette, Ain't Misbehavin' is a rollicking, finger-snapping, toe-tapping tribute that mines Waller's incredible back catalog, including 'The Joint Is Jumpin', 'Honeysuckle Rose' and 'Handful of Keys'.
One of the most prolific Black entertainers of his generation, Thomas 'Fats' Waller set the bar for jazz piano during his short life. In addition to being a performer, comedian and composer, he was also the first African-American to compose a Broadway musical.
