A host of 70s era funk and soul legends joins forces for one special night only
Hold onto your starched collars and bell-bottom flares ladies and gentlemen, because things are about to get funky! For one special night only a quartet of Funk and Soul Legends will join forces at the Houston Arena Theatre to revive the grand tradition of old school music. Don't miss sets from Number One With A Bullet hitmakers Con Funk Shun, disco-jazz fusion pioneers Brick, Slave frontman Steve Arrington and urban contemporary duo Yarbrough & Peoples.
Calling on influences like Chaka Khan, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Commodores, Memphis-based outfit Con Funk Shun signed to Mercury Records in 1976, going on to write and release chart-topping albums and singles over the next decade. Hailing from Atlanta, Brick spent the 70s merging disco and jazz, calling their heady cocktail 'dazz'. Career-defining hits include Dusic and Ain't Gonna Hurt Nobody.
