What’s On At Houston’s Sarofim Hall
Midnight-blue walls, soaring gold-leaf columns, and a ribbed latticework that whispers old-world glam
Nestled within the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, Sarofim Hall opened its doors in 2002 to become Houston's curtain-raising champion of Broadway tours and glitzy musical theater. Designed by Robert A.M. Stern, the hall draws its vintage-chic inspiration from early-20th-century legends Herts & Tallant.
With a capacity of 2,650 seats spread across orchestra, mezzanine, gallery levels (plus private boxes), the farthest seat is a mere 128 feet from the stage - no nosebleed sections here. And behind the scenes? The Ruth B. Bauer Stage boasts a 60-musician orchestra pit, vast backstage space, and smooth logistics for even the most elaborate performances.
