DISAPPOINTING SHOW - SAD TO SAY

I saw the Eagles in 2015 in their History of the Eagles tour at Madison Square Garden and thought it was one of the best concerts I'd ever seen. It was a very professional show with minimal talk and lots of great music. i went again last night and was somewhat disappointed. Don Henley, of course, spoke about Glenn and introduced Deacon Frey who now plays with the band. Deacon is adequate and the crowd gracefully cheered him, but he is no substitute for his father whose soaring voice, musical talent & presence was missed by this fan. Also, the show was too glitzy & theatrical. At one point, they shined lights on each section of the arena so everyone sitting there cheered. This was pointless and seemed like they were trying to waste time and perhaps get some rest in between performing songs. We enjoyed the 2.5 hour show, but it almost felt like a tribute band not the Eagles to this fan. This is what it would have been like if the Beatles performed with Julian after John died.

EAGLES TRIED BUT VINCE GILL HELD THEM UP

Saw the Camping World Stadium concert this past Saturday, with Buffet and the "New Eagles" band, and have to disagree with most of the positive reviews, probably from newer fans. Have to say while JB got the 45,000 + fans going, for this long time Eagles fan their segment dragged, and seemed disconnected. I've loved these guys for all of my adult life, and have seen them in concert many times. But this time the songs dragged, the long time in between songs was amateurish, like a band playing 2nd fiddle for JB. If not for Gil, and Joe Walsh, we would've walked out sooner than we ultimately did. Gil saved them with Glen's songs. And unfortunately, Timothy B. Schmidt seemed to be in constant pain with his broken foot. To run the risk of blasphemy, unfortunately Glen's son couldn't handle the impossible job of filling his Dad's shoes - sad. We can't figure out what Don Henley was planning, but playing Eagle's past hits in such a slow & unenthusiastic pace needs some re-thinking!.

EAGLES IN DENVER - COASTING AND SNOOZING

We were hoping for a great night of fun music. Weather was super hot, about 100 degrees. There is absolutely no tailgating around Coors Field in Denver which did not help the Jimmy Buffet crowd. We met in a restaurant before heading to the stadium. It was not bad getting in, but merch and refreshment lines were huge. We found our seats at club level to be way to far from the stage. Our friends who are season ticket holders for the Rockies had to be relocated due to being blocked by the sound booth tent. There was a female singer on first, but we could not hear her at all. Jimmy Buffet came on at the announced time and his sound was horrible. I don't even think the rear speakers were even turned on. We could not understand a word he said all night. I'm a fan and it took a while to recognize what song he was playing, other than a few obvious ones. He played his allotted time and was off. We were hoping for a great party atmosphere and did our best. Eagles sounded lame but thanks to Joe!

SUB PAR. PLAYED LESS THAN A HOUR. WARM UP BAND WAS UNHEARD OF… STEELY DAN DID NOT SHOW.

A bunch of drunk people cause the warm up band was a last minute sub and terrible. Sounded like the same song iver and over with some lead female singer that was blah. The Eagles even with Vince Gill were past their prime. Less than one hour of music. So it was their last cash grab. Sad because the Eagles concerts of years gone by were epic. Bait and switch on the warm up band kinda miffed everyone. They were not Steely Dan… not even close. They were playing at a local bar In a Radio station attempt to hype the concert hours before the concert… just sayin… So… people around us paying $900 a ticket just drank, and drank and drank. Then this clown started to jump on his seat , shaking the entire row. He had purchased 12 tickets for his family… so I get it…. The guy next to us said it all, “ I could have just watched this on my TV.” Our pals with third row seats $2400 each said,” We should have stayed at the hotel bar.” Guess it is all in how many good concerts you have seen …
