Grammy-winning internationally renowned pianist Yefim Bronfman joins the Houston Symphony to unlock the power of Prokofiev in this mixed program that celebrates the composer alongside his peers. Bright and infused with heart and humor, expect an impressive evening in the company these formidable talents, with performances of both his Symphony No. 1 and Piano Concerto No. 2.
Elsewhere, the program includes Charles Ives' definitive Symphony No.4 and an outing for Shostakovich's popular Symphony No. 9, a work thats roots in Soviet victory steadily evolved into something far more positive and enduring.
