Escape to Neverland in Trey McIntyre's Peter Pan in June 2013!
Houston Ballet presents Trey McIntyre's enchanting three-act ballet,Peter Pan in time for summer 2013! Based upon the popular story by Sir James M. Barrie, the ballet is set to the music of Sir Edward Elgar in an arrangement by Niel DePonte. The production features elaborate, magical sets by Director of Production, Thomas Boyd and imaginative costumes by Broadway designer Jeanne Button, and reinterprets the classic story with verve and wit for the new millennium.
The work features spectacular flying sequences, swashbuckling swordfights, giant puppets, colorful masks, and costumes inspired by punk fashion!
It's a voyage navigated by a choreographer who appreciates the fantasies of youth - yet understands the complexities of aging. The Boy Pan may not have grown up, but his story certainly has.
