Stanton Welch's Pecos Bill headlines a program from Houston Ballet, with George Balanchine's Symphonie Concertante and Lar Lubovich's Meadow completing the triptych of three stunning works at the Brown Theater. A spirited revival of one of the Welch's most playful works, Pecos Bill captures the rugged essence of the American West and Texas folklore, following the legendary cowboy and his love interest Slue-foot Sue, all set to a score by Matthew Pierce.

Preceding Pecos Bill is the company debut of George Balanchine's neoclassical masterpiece Symphonie Concertante, set to the music of Mozart, followed by another Houston Ballet premiere in Lar Lubovitch's Meadow, an atmospheric work which artistic director Julie Kent has a personal connection to, having performed in the 1999 world premiere of the piece.
