Why See Houston Symphony - Dvorak's Stabat Mater?
Rarely performed and stirringly powerful, Dvorak's staggering outpouring of grief following the sad deaths of his young children formed this monumental masterpiece that utilizes the talents of the whole orchestra, soloists, and the chorus to create an thoroughly moving exploration of life and death that leaves not a dry eye in the house.
Join the Houston Symphony as led by Andres Orozco Estrada and vocalists Sasha Cooke, Toby Spence and Dashon Burton and the Houston Symphony Chorus as they present a full scale performance of this heart-rending work, that despite its themes, also represents hope and acceptance.
Opening night: 27 September 2018
