Hopeful Futures on Show for Ballets Freshest Talent
As the fourth largest ballet company in America, The Houston Ballet is already critically acclaimed, add the success of their Academy program into the mix and they are a leading force in the Ballet world. Their annual Spring Showcase of dancers gives the young students a glimpse into life as part of a company, as well as a chance for audiences to see the emerging talent of tomorrow's stars.
Founded in 1955, the aim of the academy has been to provide professional ballet training, hand in hand with a variety of other dance styles. The contemporary & classic mix demonstrates the Academy's ability to allow students to develop as well-rounded dancers from preparatory to professional levels. It's also somewhat satisfying to know that ticket sales for the Spring Showcase help subsidize tuition for students enrolled in the academy.
