Ben Platt and Noah Galvin Tie the Knot in Joyful New York Wedding Celebration

Author DanielDaniel, September 11th, 2024

The Dear Evan Hansen Actors Share Their Big Day!

Congratulations are in order for Broadway stars Ben Platt and Noah Galvin, who tied the knot over Labor Day weekend! The couple celebrated their wedding in style with events across Brooklyn and Manhattan, with the main ceremony held on Sunday, September 1st, at Pioneer Works in Red Hook, Brooklyn.

The pair, who have been dating for four years and got engaged in 2022 (with a second engagement celebration in 2023), wanted their wedding to feel intimate and filled with love. Platt told Vogue that they aimed to have guests surround them at the ceremony "like a big hug." The ceremony, officiated by Rabbi David Wolpe, included traditional Hebrew blessings with English interpretations, and their mothers surprised the couple with a performance of a classic Jewish wedding song.

Ben Platt is best known for his Tony Award-winning performance as Evan Hansen in the Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen, a role that catapulted him to stardom. Platt's work in the theatre world extends beyond that iconic role, having also appeared in productions like The Book of Mormon and Parade. Noah Galvin, who later succeeded Platt as Evan Hansen on Broadway, is also well-versed in theatre, with notable roles in Waitress and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Together, their shared love for the stage has been a cornerstone of their relationship.

In true celebratory fashion, Platt and Galvin broke glasses, as per Jewish tradition, followed by an exuberant "30-minute hora." Platt described the day as full of love, adding, "We were overwhelmed, sweaty, and sobbing most of the time".

We wish Ben and Noah all the best in this exciting new chapter of their lives!
