A heart-warming take on a ballet classic!
Celebrate the music of iconic composer Sergei Prokofiev with the Open World Dance Foundation this Fall as they present his most famous work, the Cinderella ballet! A world premiere, the ballet will feature none other than Misty Copeland and Calvin Royal III, principal dancers from American Ballet Theatre, in the starring roles of Cinderella and her Prince Charming.
With a motto that reads 'United by Dance', the foundation is a bastion of historical ballet, preserving the tradtitional art form as well as promoting art education amongst underprivileged children. This brand new production draws on the sketches of orphans from St. Petersburg, Russia, who drew what they thought the fairytale should look like. From Cinderella's dress to the stage design, their imaginative drawings are the basis for this inspiring new work.
