Passions run deep in Houston Ballet's rendition of The Taming of the Shrew, a marvellously uproarious comedy adapted & elegantly choreographed by John Cranko from Shakespeare's play of warring temperaments in the search for matrimonial bliss.
The story of a tempestuous young woman, Katerina and Petruchio, the man charged with becoming her suitor by her exasperated father, The Taming of the Shrew encapulsaltes the struggle of finding a perfect balance between love and hate. With comic flourish rarely seen in ballet, Shrew is a definate must see and is expertly danced by the infinately talented Houston Ballet.
