Shrek The Musical arrives at the Sarofim Hall, Hobby Center, Houston

The most beloved swamp-dwelling ogre of all time arrives in Houston this Fall when SHREK, THE MUSICAL arrives at the Sarofim Hall, Hobby Center October 19th to 30th.. Joining Shrek on his journey from the swamp to the stage will be his wisecracking sidekick Donkey, Princess Fiona, Lord Farquaad and a chorus of everybody's favorite fairytale creatures.

Based on the critically acclaimed feature film, Billy Elliot is brought to life by the movies original creative team director Stephen Daldry, choreographer Peter Darling and writer Lee Hall - along with music legend Elton John, who has written what the New York Post calls HIS BEST SCORE YET!

2010 TONY AWARD WINNERS

At last the waiting is over, and after all the excitement of the most glamorous night on Broadway, best of the Broadway season were honored at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, 14 June. A host of A-list actors turned out for the stage equivalent of the Oscars. The 2010 Tony Awards have officially been announced.

Red, John Logan's portrait of abstract-expressionist artist Mark Rothko, and Memphis, the story of showbiz aspirations and forbidden love in the Civil Rights era, were named Best Play and Best Musical, respectively.

The Tony for Best Revival of a Play went to the late August Wilson's drama Fences starring Denzel Washington (Tony for Best Actor Tony) and Viola Davis (Tony for Best Actress in a Play).

Best Revival of a Musical went to La Cage aux Folles starring Douglas Hodge (Tony for Best Actor in a Musical) and Kelsey Grammer.
